In this week’s episode of the Vision To Reality series The Promise of Purpose, we are going to see how God answered Hagar’s questions with some questions of His own. He asked her where she had come from and where she was going. Of course He knew the answers, but He wanted to address her identity and speak into her future.
‘The angel said to her, “Hagar, Sarai’s servant, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress, Sarai,” she replied. The angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit to her authority.” Then he added, “I will give you more descendants than you can count.’ Genesis 16:8-10 NLT
The God of the universe revealed Himself to a lonely, abused servant girl and spoke purpose into her life. He gave her courage to return and raise the son who would become a nation. You and I also have a powerful purpose designed uniquely by God. He knows where you have been and where you are going. Ask Him to address your identity and speak into your future. All you need to do is ask.
