Our homes ​​are really important to the Lord. It’s where we teach our children and they experience God in our family times. It’s where we gather with family and friends for the holidays. It’s a precious place of refreshing and safety. And when you stop to think, it is a place where ministry happens. What does God see when He looks at your home? He is not looking for a perfect place, He is looking for a place of peace where visitors to your home can experience His presence.

‘But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”’ 1 Samuel 16:7 ESV

As you’re choosing a place to live or are thinking about a room in your house that needs “something,” this is a scripture that helps you remember to ask the Lord what He sees in this room or in this home. Trust the Lord with your selections, you might even hear Him say, “This is the house” or “Let’s do this with this room.” Then obedience becomes the material you work with to create the space that God has envisioned. His desire is for your home to be a place of beauty, peace and joy from cubside to kitchen cabinets. Ask Him to help you see what He sees.
