In our world today there is a vast amount of conflicting information that can cause thoughts of fear, worry, uncertainty and anxiety. The command Fear Not is used more than 80 times in God’s Word. God knew we would struggle with fear so He gave us a way out.
“We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ,”
2 Corinthians 10:5 AMP
Let me encourage you to capture those fearful thoughts and recognize when a thought is bringing fear, anxiety or worry it is not from the Lord.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” II Timothy 1:7 NKJV
We can judge those thoughts and decide to believe (exalt) what the Word of God says over what we are hearing and feeling. Then, remembering that fear is from the enemy and there is no truth in him we can stand firm.
“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” John 8:44 NKJV
The enemy is evil and brings fear.
God is good and brings peace.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 NKJV
