You can do it too! Dave and I stayed in the cutest vacation rental in Winter Park, CO last weekend, and I thought……what if I found this exact layout in Florida? How would I design it? Well, here it is, the before and after, and I have the links available for you to find everything I used! What do you think?

We have found that most vacation rentals tend to choose decor that accentuates their vacation area. For instance, if you are looking at a snow skiing vacation, your rental is probably not going to have a desert motif for decor. So, I would never expect to find a seaside vibe in the mountains of Colorado. But our Florida rentals all have wonderful beach vibes. Here is what I would do if that cute mountain rental was near the beach:

- Paint the walls Alabaster from Sherwin Williams.
- Replace the deer over the bed with a coastal beach picture that includes sage green.
- Replace the black curtains with white sheer curtains.
- Replace the deer pillow with 2–20” sage green and ivory pillows.
- Remove the bear artwork.
- Replace the checkered bedding and deer quilt with white quilt, euroshams, regular shams, and a beige waffle weave blanket.
- Add a sage green and ivory lumbar pillow in front of the square pillows.
- Replace the lamps with tall, glass/black iron lamps with white shades.
- Add white florals next to the night stand with a wooden ‘message’ sign.
- Add a rattan bench at the end of the bed.
- Add a wood tray with champagne, glasses, a plant and a jar candle.
- Add a neutral area rug under the bed.
