Marketing for our vacation rentals means thinking ahead of the people who are thinking ahead! Guests who are planning trips with their family for the holidays want to see how our properties will look all decked out for the holiday season. People might talk about Christmas in July like it is a SUPER LONG TIME away, but we actually started marketing for the holidays in August!

Online gives us the opportunity to add some virtual decor to our page with an Escape to the Coast for the Holidays banner. This gets our browsers thinking in terms of holiday beachcombing and sand instead of snow. But this month, we are adding real decor that will be festive no matter which holiday our guests celebrate in the next three months.

This month we are putting woodland trees with white twinkle lights into each property. (Our properties all have strings of outdoor lights year around). Recognizing not all our guests celebrate the same holidays during this season, we chose decor to create a cozy winter experience with no particular holiday look.

Enhancing a guest experience can take on a multitude of different possibilities, but part of the fun is thinking up ways to increase the enjoyment level at each property. We have done a number of things already, including the winter wonderland, adding pools, hanging porch swings, creating workout rooms, providing bicycles and more.

So, the answer to the question, Is October Too Soon? is NO. It is not too soon to decorate for the holidays. It is not too soon to enhance the guest experience of your vacation renters. It is not too soon to be thinking ahead of the potential guests who are thinking ahead!

Let me know what you think,
